Lake Laps

the sun’s swimming its final laps, soon settling upon the shoulders of muscled mountains, that flex for the affection of a voluptuous lake lapping at its feet.

My Baby Song

“My Baby Song”
I’m a child of the sea
That’s where my mamma she had me
Down by the beach she wrote a song
I think it lasted ten years long
Now I float within a lake
Where I can’t make no big mistake
Play it strong, play it strong
Play it on my baby song
Song
Song
Beneath the breeze of the sun
There’s a world that’s come undone
And I’m shakin’ like a leaf
Crawlin’ on to find relief
While my song falls along
Through the night until dawn
Play it strong, play it strong
Play it on my baby song,
Song
Song
The world’s a world of its own songs
And I can’t help but play along
It doesn’t make me weak or strong
I’m just tryin’ to find my song
That flew away for so long
Through the years that grew so long
Play it strong, play it strong
Play it on my baby song
Song
Song

“Mourning the Morning”

The moon’s been bleeding my knees

The sun’s now burning the trees

Shuffling to the shore

I try not to fall anymore

Everything’s sweating, it’s so damn hot

Shivers strangles my spine, reaching for the river

So, I shoot a shooter, that drinks forever

The liquid melancholy makes me lonely

Feeling like the devil’s my only friend, but she’s a phony

And now the night’s mourning the morning

Drowning in tears

Conquered by fears

A Mourning Morning

This frozen morning has me mourning for the shelter of the sun;
Our iced-over street wombs pummeled by a sea of hardened snow, that rails against winds widowed by cacophonous clouds colliding into one searing symphony of howling hollowness
